ATWT's Cooley dead at 66

Don Chastain (Cooley) passed away on August 9th after a long battle with colon cancer. He was 66.

In addition to his work on As The World Turns, Chastain also appeared on Another World as TJ Reno, on Search For Tomorrow as Dr. Max Taper and on One Life to Live as a jeweler. But he might best be known as General Hospital's Tom Baldwin, a role be held for ten years beginning in 1977 and ending in 1987. Chastain also worked behind-the-scenes as a writer.

Daytime television was not Chastain's only foray into acting. He appeared on the Debbie Reynolds Show and in motion pictures such as 1970's C.C. and Company. Chastain also was an accomplished and well-known actor in musical theatre on Broadway.

Chastain is survived by his wife, Jill Diamond, and son Colin.
